The service held at the House of Hope megachurch included remarks by Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and the reading of condolence letters from Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Mac's beloved White Sox baseball team.

When the U.S. men's swimming team won gold by setting a new world record in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the Olympics Monday, most of America celebrated the fact that swimming sensation Michael Phelps had just earned his third gold medal.
